Code of Conduct

1. The Initiative for Social Responsibility in Business (BSCI), whose members are retail companies and associations, importers and production companies, is a universal monitoring system for compliance with social responsibility in European society. It aims to continuously improve the social responsibility performance of its members' production and supply facilities around the world. The BSCI monitoring system is not intended to replace other established external multi-stakeholder identification systems.

2. BSCI members consider themselves responsible for all activities under their name worldwide. They especially feel a responsibility to provide good working conditions for the employees who produce their products. BSCI members also believe that this responsibility should extend to all employees who produce for BSCI members, whether they are employees directly employed by BSCI members or by third-party subcontractors and suppliers.

3. In order to create productive conditions that have an impact and contribute to socially acceptable production conditions, BSCI members have developed this Code of Conduct. All suppliers of BSCI members worldwide are also obligated to comply with this Code of Conduct.

BSCI members are expected to implement the Code of Conduct in a positive and cooperative spirit. They are happy to maintain all existing business relationships while fully complying with the Code. BSCI plans to raise awareness of this issue in the near future and achieve continuous and sustainable improvements in the coming years. Improvements in compliance with social responsibility will enable suppliers to meet the needs of existing and future markets, as well as legal requirements. Suppliers' social responsibility performance can be systematically improved over time and the crisis of resistance can be avoided. BSCI's position is that the economy is sustainable and society can progress only if basic living standards are maintained and improved.

4. The Code of Conduct only states minimum standards and should not be understood as maximum, nor should it be used in any way to the detriment of employees, for example, to restrict employees' freedom of association or the right to collective bargaining.

5. BSCI members consider themselves to be working in partnership with their suppliers. The implementation of socially acceptable conditions of production is based on the principles of dialogue, consensus, cooperation and equity. The interests of the parties most affected by the change should be placed prominently in any consideration and change. The implementation and enforcement of the Code of Conduct depends on the development of the respective suppliers and the countries in which they operate. The ultimate goal of BSCI is to fully implement the Code.

6. Suppliers must ensure that all subcontractors involved in the production process (e.g. modulation and assembly activities) representing BSCI members up to the final production stage are presentComply with the Code of Conduct.

7. In accordance with ILO conventions, the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, BSCI's Code of Conduct is committed to meeting certain social responsibility and environmental standards. The following requirements are of particular importance.

7.1 Compliance with Laws: Comply with all applicable national laws and rules, industry minimum standards, International Labour Organization and United Nations conventions, and any more stringent relevant regulations.

7.2 Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining

7.3 In certain circumstances or where the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining is restricted by the provisions of the law of the State, autonomous and free organization and negotiation shall be promoted in a similar manner. This is in accordance with ILO Conventions 87, 98 and 135.

7.4 Prohibition of Discrimination: There shall be no discrimination on the basis of sex, age, religious belief, ancestry, social status, social background, disability, racial and ethnic origin, nationality, membership in workers' organizations, including trade unions, party affiliation, sexual orientation or any other personal characteristic. This is in accordance with articles 100 and 111 of the ILO Convention.

7.5 Compensation: The payment of wages for normal working hours, overtime hours and overtime pay brackets shall meet or exceed the statutory minimum standards and/ or industry standards. Workers' wages must not be lowered illegally or without permission. If the statutory minimum wage is not enough to cover daily living expenses and provide additional disposable income, companies should strive to provide adequate compensation to employees to meet this need. This is in accordance with articles 26 and 131 of the ILO Convention.

7.6 Working hours: Overtime work shall be voluntary. The maximum allowable working hours per week is 48 hours, and the maximum allowable overtime hours are 12 hours. Employees are entitled to one day off after 6 consecutive days of work. This is in accordance with articles 1 and 14 of the ILO Convention.

7.7 Workplace Safety: A set of rules and procedures on occupational health and safety must be clearly established and strictly enforced. Workplace practices and conditions must not undermine fundamental human rights. This is in accordance with Article 155 of the ILO Convention and Article 164 of the ILO Recommended Standards.

7.8 Prohibition of Child Labour: Child labour is prohibited in accordance with the provisions of the International Labour Organization and United Nations conventions and/or national laws. Among these standards, the most stringent should be followed. Any form of exploitation of children is also prohibited. No working conditions are allowed to be slave-like or harmful to the health of children. The rights of underage workers must be protected. This is in accordance with ILO Conventions 79, 138, 142 and 182.

7.9 Prohibition of Forced Labour: Any form of forced labour, such as prisoner-style labour that violates basic human rights, is prohibited. This is in accordance with articles 29 and 105 of the ILO Convention.

7.10 Environmental and safety issues: Procedures and standards for waste management, handling and removal of chemicals and other dangerous goods, and disposal of effluents and effluents must meet or exceed minimum statutory requirements.

8. BSCI members will encourage compliance with the above requirements, define and implement appropriate procedures and monitor compliance with their suppliers.

9. Once a violation of the Code of Conduct is identified, BSCI members will immediately consult with the relevant supplier. Together, they will explore solutions and BSCI members will assist in solving them. Solutions must take into account the best interests of employees. If a suitable and agreed solution cannot be found within the appropriate time frame and implemented, this may be a reasonable reason for terminating further business dealings.

10. None of the actions of BSCI and its members will diminish the responsibilities of national and local governments, international non-governmental organizations and staff representatives in establishing open market trade policies and ensuring that social conditions improve.

11. BSCI intends to submit the main elements of this statement to public and political resolutions.

BSCI audits can only be conducted by SAI-accredited audit firms and auditors, and BSCI reports are valid for three years.

Before being audited, suppliers should submit existing audit reports and certificates to the auditing company. If a valid SA8000 certificate or an equivalent certificate is submitted that relates to the scope of BSCI, there is no need to take any further audit measures. The same applies if the supplier is currently in the process of obtaining SA8000 certification or equivalent certification.

Audit Principles: Audits are conducted in accordance with the BSCI Management Manual and Audit Guidelines. The purpose of the audit is to assist suppliers in improving their social standards. In order to ensure consistent application of the BSCI objectives and principles, the BSCI Audit Questionnaire is used in all audits.

Who are the members of BSCI?

A member of BSCI is a full member of the company as a voting member at the general meeting of members or a relevant member of the association as a non-voting member. Members can be retailers, factories, importers, and the public buying and selling sector from various sectors of the country. BSCI is open to companies in both the European Union and the European Union.

What products are covered by BSCI?

How can I receive a certificate if I don't have a certificate? The cover page of the audit report lists the results, and the audit validity period can be displayed in the factory unit and as proof of audit.

How much does an audit cost?

The cost of an audit depends on the size, the location of the facility, and the number of working days required to conduct the audit.

As an example, the audit time policy requires at least one business day (8 hours) on-site for small businesses (less than 250 employees). The price is directly proportional to the company and the country.

Who pays for the audit?

How long is BSCI valid for?

Which auditor conducts the audit?

Records and supporting documents required for BSCI audit

1 Has the company made a written commitment to its employees that it will comply with BSCI social responsibility requirements, including the legal requirements of the countries in which it operates? Environmental requirements

BSCI is part B13 of environmental protection requirements, and its Chinese evidence part B2 also contains various documentary evidence of environmental protection requirements. These include the following:

Principles of Payroll Accounting
